Michelle is a Shareholder with Cowles and Thompson Immigration Practice Group. Her current practice represents investors, entrepreneurs, and start ups in strategizing and seeking out various visa options that fit their business model and both short term and long-term goals in the United States.
She has extensive experience handling H-1B professional worker visas, O-1 extraordinary ability visas, E-1/E-2 treaty investor, L-1 transfer visas, TN temporary work visa for citizens of Canada & Mexico, E-3 professional worker visas for Australian nationals, and permanent residence applications based upon labor certification, extraordinary ability aliens, national interest waivers, multinational managers and executives, and EB-5 investor immigrant visas.
Michelle has also worked with individuals and families in obtaining legal permanent residence (“green card”) via adjustment of status and via consular processing, preparing waivers of inadmissibility when required.
Michelle is a Dallas native and attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas for her undergraduate career. After graduation she spent a couple of years working in accounting for companies in Dallas and Austin. She and her husband relocated to Houston where Michelle went to South Texas College of Law. During law school she was an Alternative Dispute Resolution Advocate and Regional Finalist in 2006 and was a proud member of the STCL Hispanic Law Student Association. While in law school, she again found her passion in the area of immigration law and both worked and clerked for various immigration law firms in the Houston area.
She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Texas Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association and admitted to practice law in the State of Texas.
